This document describes the functionality of the excise tax application created by Micro-Apps. Keep detailed summaries of your Excise Duty and Consumer Taxes with this application for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Make sure your Units of Measure and your items are setup within Business Central and the Accijns NL application will take care of the rest. Automatically keep track of the amount of alcohol, in liters, that is purchased and/or sold.
When it is time to declare you simply open the tab Monthly Alcohol Sales directly in your Dynamics 365 Business Central environment to get a clear overview of what is available to declare.
To install the NL Excise & Taxes app, you simply navigate to the Microsoft Marketplace for Business Central apps (AppSource) via your own Business Central environment. From here you can automatically install the extension and make it available awithin every company in your Business Central environment.
For the correct working of the app, make sure that the setting for the Micro Apps Base App is set to “allowing HttpClient Request”.
Once the installation is complete, the app needs to be set up. This can be done with the Excise NL Wizard This wizard contains all the necessary steps to completely set up the extension. The first step is to register yourself and to activate the trial or subscription. With the trial, you can use the app two weeks free of charge. After the trial period, you need to activate the subscription.
Make sure both fields are checked (like the example in the picture at the right)

The last configuration step to do is assigning the ‘Excise NL’ permission set. For every user that uses the NL Excise & Taxes app and doesn’t have super rights, you need to set the ‘Excise NL’ permission.
Open the user overview page with the button, select the user and assign the “Excise NL” permission in the User Permission Sets tab. After this step you are done with the configuration.

Configure Units of Measure
To be able to make a correct calculation of the number of liters of alcohol sold for a product to which excise duty applies, the conversion must first be entered in the units of measure page. This can be found by searching for ‘Units of measure’ in your Business Central environment. Then enter the correct number in the Liter field for the relevant unit.

Purchase Order Lines
On the Purchase Order lines, the Alcohol % field is available to get instant insight in the alcohol percentage and therefore whether this product is subject to the excise duty. Open the Purchase Order by searching ‘Purchase Orders’ and open the appropriate purchase order.

Sales Order Lines
On the Sales Order lines, the Alcohol percentage field is also available to get instant insight into what the alcohol percentage is, and therefore whether this product is subject to the excise duty. Open the Sales Order by searching ‘Sales Orders’ and open the appropriate sales order.

Monthly Alcohol Sales
Companies dealing with excisable products must file an “Excise and Consumption Tax Return” at the Customs. The NL Excise & Taxes app provides a page, where all alcohol sales are listed by month. This page can be found by searching “Monthly Alcohol Sales” in your Business Central environment.

The page is now automatically filtered, showing the number of liters of alcohol on which excise tax must be declared.

By clicking on the date number in a particular month, you can see the history of the monthly alcohol sales.
